World champion England’s defeat against Bangladesh

Did the England team, which won the World Cup just four months ago, think in a nightmare that they would have to come back to Bangladesh and be whitewashed? But that’s what actually happened. Bangladesh won all the three-match T20 series and left the world champions. In the last match of the series in Mirpur, the home of Bangladesh cricket, Team Tiger won by 16 runs.
England was hit in the third ball of the innings in the run chase at Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla. Liton Das stumped Phil Salt (0) off the bowling of anointed spinner Tanvir Islam. In the next over, Taskin gave lbw to Dawid Malan but he survived with a review. His partnership with captain Jos Buttler was frozen. 47 runs came in the Powerplay. England took control of the match. Mustafizur Rahman broke the partnership of 95 runs off 76 balls by catching Dawid Malan in the gloves of Liton Das, who scored 53 off 47 balls. This is his 100th wicket in T20Is. In the next ball, Butler, who scored 40 runs in 31 balls, was run out by Miraj’s great throw.
Bangladesh returned to the match. England needed 51 runs in the last five overs. Taskin returned to Moin Ali, who scored 9 runs in the 17th over with a six. Miraz took the catch at the boundary. In the last ball of the same over, the star pacer bowled Ben Duckett (11) in a great delivery. I want 36 runs off 18 balls. In the 19th over, Shakib caught Sam Curran (4) in Tanvir’s palm. The sixth wicket fell for 128 runs. In the last over, 27 runs were needed. Chris Woakes hit a boundary in the first two balls of Tanvir. But up to that point. England could not score more than 142 runs. Bangladesh won the match by 16 runs.
Earlier on Tuesday, Bangladesh scored 158 runs for 2 wickets after losing the toss in the third and final match of the series. Liton Das and Rony Talukdar gave a great start by making an opening partnership of 55 runs. Rony Talukdar, who scored 3 fours and 24 off 22 balls, was cut and bowled by Adil Rashid but Liton went on to score big today. He picked up the ninth fifty of his career in 41 balls. His pair with Nazmul Hossain Shanto was frozen. Liton, who survived with an easy catch after the fifty, became even more destructive. At one time, his century did not seem impossible.
However, Liton’s innings of 73 off 57 balls with 10 fours and a six was stopped by Chris Jordan’s ball to Phil Salt. This is the best innings of his career in T20. The pace of scoring runs slowed down as Shanto broke the 84-run partnership in 58 balls. Captain Shakib came to the wicket. The umpire lbw to Shanto for a personal 40 runs but he survived with a review. There were not many runs in the end. Although 8 wickets in hand, only 27 runs came in the last 5 overs! Bangladesh scored 158 runs for 2 wickets. Shanto remained unbeaten on 47 off 36 balls with 1 four and 2 sixes and Shakib remained unbeaten on 4 off 6 balls.
