What is the income of umpires in IPL?

IPL is considered to be the most expensive tournament among franchise leagues in cricket. India captivated cricket fans from all over the world with this magnificent event. From the cricketers to the coaching staff, even the umpires’ income is a big source of the IPL! The 16th season of IPL started on March 31. This year a total of 10 teams are participating in this tournament. A few cricketers from Bangladesh have also signed up for this event.

Besides, umpires from different countries of the world are performing duties in IPL. Two classes of umpires manage matches in IPL. Tested umpires who are advanced in experience and skill are considered as ‘elite class’. And those with relatively less experience are seen as ‘development umpires’ or ‘developers’.Experienced or elite category umpires get Rs 1 lakh 98 thousand per match as remuneration for officiating a match. Apart from this, the additional income is around 12,500 rupees. In total, an experienced umpire earns more than 2 lakh rupees per match. And a relatively less experienced umpire gets 59 thousand rupees per match. Apart from this they also get regular income from advertisements. All in all, the umpires earn quite well in the entire tournament.
