England vs South Africa’s three-match ODI series ended in a draw due to rain. Series result 1-1. Disappointingly, the last match at Headingley was canceled after just 27 overs due to rain. However, in this time, the wicket-keeper batsman Quinton de Kock set a unique precedent in the history of South African cricket. Touched Protea cricket legend AB de Villiers. De Cock became the first wicket-keeper batsman in the history of Proteas men’s ODI cricket to remain unbeaten in the 90s.

Incidentally, AB de Villiers set this precedent as the first Proteas wicket-keeper batsman against Pakistan in 2013. He was unbeaten on 95 that day. On this day i.e. Sunday in Leeds, Headingley in the last ODI against England, De Cock touched that precedent. De Kock remained unbeaten on 92 runs in the match.

Note that 50 overs were not played due to rain. A match of 45 overs was attempted. But only 27.4 overs of South Africa’s innings were possible. Out of which De Kock remained unbeaten with 92 runs off 76 balls. His innings consisted of 13 fours. The strike rate was 121.05.
