The last time champions won the opening match of the DPL

Dhaka Premier League (DPL) has come up. The tournament was inaugurated at the Home of Cricket in Mirpur on Wednesday (March 15) morning. The champion Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club defeated the newcomer Dhaka Leopards by 8 wickets in the first match. Batting first, Dhaka Leopards scored 169 runs after losing all the wickets. Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi club won in 31 overs in response. Dhaka Premier League is the big stage for domestic players to prove themselves. 12 teams are participating in this year’s tournament.

The top 6 teams will play in the Super League. And the champion team of the season will be determined from there. Cricket Board Director Salauddin Chowdhury inaugurated the tournament on Wednesday morning. Last year’s champion Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club entered the field on a rainy day. The opponent is Dhaka Leopards who participated in the Premier League for the first time.
