Such incidents are not good for cricket: Harbhajan Singh

In IPL last Monday (01 May) Bengaluru won the match against Lucknow Super Giants. Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir got involved in controversy while shaking hands after the match. However, the former Indian spinner has assured that he will fix everything between these two cricketers after the IPL.

Bengaluru defeated Lucknow by 18 runs in the only match of the IPL on Monday. Batting first, RCB got a short capital of 126 runs. In response, Lucknow’s innings stopped at 108 runs in controlled bowling by Bengaluru bowlers. RCB players cheered when Lucknow’s wicket fell in the match. But Kohli’s joy was a little too much. Lucknow mentor Gautam Gambhir may not have seen that.

The cricketers cheered wildly when RCB took the wicket of Naveen-ul-Haq in the match. RCB cricketers threw head caps, which Naveen did not take kindly to. Then at the end of the match, Kohli and Gambhir had a discussion. Then the two got into an argument with each other for a while. Then the cricketers of the two teams separated them. Former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh also spoke about this on his YouTube channel. There, Harbhajan said, ‘It will not stop here. People will argue about it. The practice will continue who is at fault and who is not.’

Meanwhile, in 2008, a similar situation happened with Harbhajan, former Indian pacer Sreesanth. Now after 15 years, he feels ashamed. Harbhajan Singh said, ‘I still feel ashamed to think about it. At that time I felt that what happened was right, I was right. But now I think what I did was wrong.’He also said, ‘Kohli is emotional, he played because of his emotions and this happened. But we have to find out who is at fault – Kohli, Gambhir, or Naveen. But this incident is not good for cricket.’
