Sriram rushed to Bangladesh on his phone call

Russell Domingo is no longer the coach of the Tigers in the T20 format. He will continue with the Test and ODI formats till the contract expires. Sridharan Sriram, the Australian expatriate Indian coach, has been given the responsibility of bringing the Bangladesh team into a rhythm in this twenty-over format. Sriram was not well known by the cricket lovers of the country before he was appointed as the team’s technical consultant. Many have heard this first name because Sriram has no cricket career to speak of.
He played only 8 international matches for India. But how did the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) get associated with him so quickly?
Sriram himself said that Bangladesh team director Khaled Mahmud said that Sujon rushed to Bangladesh with a phone call.

Participating in a press conference on Thursday night, Sriram said, ‘I was just leaving the responsibility of Cricket Australia and commenting on the TNPL. Then Khaled Mahmud Sujon called me. He said BCB wants to get me as a technical consultant. Things happened very quickly after that. Now I am in front of you. I think I have been able to join the Bangladesh team very easily.â€?/p>

The former Indian all-rounder also clarified what is the job of a coach or a technical consultant. He said, ‘I am very clear about my role. There are some skilled coaches on the coaching staff. I hope they do a great job. My main job is to work in coordination with the captain, team director, and these skilled coaches. The main plan is to utilize my T20 coaching experience gained in Australia and IPL. I am not saying that I am leading the team. I’ll just put everything together.’
