Nazmul Hossain Shanto has scored the highest run in this edition of BPL so far. His form is going well. In the match between Chattogram Challengers and Sylhet Strikers, Sylhet’s batsman Nazmul Hossain Shanto broke the BCB Code of Conduct of Level 1.
He has been formally warned for breaching Article 2.2 of the BCB’s Code of Conduct. Where it is said that no cricketing used thing can be misused during the match.
A demerit point has been added next to the name of Nazmul Hossain Shanto due to a formal warning.
According to Article 7.5 of the Code of Conduct, if a cricketer’s demerit point in the tournament becomes 4, then this point will become a match suspension.
On-field umpires Tanvir Ahmed and David Milnes, third umpire Pragith Rambukwella and fourth umpire Ali Amran Rajan took cognizance of the charges. There was no need for a formal hearing on the issue as the calm charges and punishments were accepted.
The minimum punishment for breaching the Level 1 Code of Conduct is a formal reprimand. The maximum penalty is 1 or 2 demerit points with a fine of 50 percent of the match fee.
