According to him, repeated injuries are disappointing for Archer. Archer was ruled out of the field in March last year due to an elbow injury. Between May and July 2021, he played one first-class and T20 match each in the county. After playing these matches, he had to go off the field again due to an old injury.

Archer has had 3 surgeries in the last 14 months. He was due to return to the field this month with the England domestic T20 Blast. He was scheduled to play for Sussex against Glamorgan on 26 May. However, due to injury, Archer will not be available on the cricket field till September.
