Former Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Amir faced a setback during the Eliminator match of the Caribbean Premier League 2023, which featured the Jamaica Tallawahs and St Lucia Kings. The incident occurred on Monday when Amir suffered a hamstring injury.

In the match, the Tallawahs won the toss and elected to bowl first. Amir took the responsibility to open the innings for his team. Unfortunately, after delivering just three balls, Amir pulled his hamstring and displayed visible discomfort. Subsequently, the left-arm pacer had to leave the field and was unable to continue bowling.

Despite the setback, the 31-year-old Amir himself took to the social media platform X to provide an update regarding his injury. He conveyed, “I will be fine InshaAllah, was on medication from last week because of stomach infection so it is just cramps. Hamstring hopefully will get better till Friday.”
