India’s Former cricketer’s pension was hiked by 100%

India is the richest cricket board in the world. Once again, their country has improved due to their success in hosting the IPL. This time, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has given good news to the former cricketers. It is said that the amount of pension is being increased by 100 percent.
Board Secretary Jay Shah wrote on Twitter on Monday, “It is with great pleasure to announce that the monthly pension of women and male cricketers and match officials is being increased. A total of 900 people will be covered under this increased pension. The retirement allowance of 75 percent of pensioners will be increased by 100 percent.

Naturally, Jay Shah made a big announcement. Undoubtedly, pensioners will be happy and benefit. It is clear from his tweet that along with the cricketers, the list includes scorers, statisticians, and many people associated with the match.

It is to be noted that on this day, the rights to show IPL matches on TV and digital platforms were sold for a huge amount. From 2023 to 2027, the two companies are getting the TV and digital rights of the IPL for a period of five years. Disney (Star Sports) bought the rights for Rs 23,575 crore. That is, Star Sports became the owner of the IPL show on TV, leaving Behind Sonny. Package B covers the issue of digital rights in the Indian subcontinent.

It is heard that Viacom 18 has already bid 20 thousand 500 rupees to get those rights.

After this huge amount of money, Jay Shah gave the good news to the former cricketers. The BCCI is often blamed for the pay gap between men and women cricketers. However, in the case of pensions, the board of Sourav Ganguly is practically closing the gap of that increased percentage.
