India Women vs Bangladesh Women
Nov 26, 2016 – 1st T20 Match at Terdthai Cricket Ground, Bangkok
Match scheduled to begin at 10:00 local time (03:00 GMT | 08:00 PST | 08:30 IST | 09:00 BST)
The strongest women’s team in Asia, India have won all five editions of the Women’s Asia Cup, winning the first four competitions held in 50-over format and then beating Pakistan in the final of the first ACC T20 event held in Guangzhou in 2012. India finished in fifth place in the recently concluded ICC Women’s Championship finishing their campaign with an impressive 3-0 series victory over West Indies. The Indians also had the opportunity of playing a three match T20 series against the current world champions. India’s ODI captain Mithali Raj is one of the most outstanding players in women’s international cricket.
Ranked just outside the top eight in women’s cricket, Bangladesh have never qualified for the Women’s World Cup in 50-over format, but they been more successful in the Women’s World T20 as they won two matches out of four in 2014 when they hosted the event. Bangladesh visited Thailand last year to play in the ICC Women’s World T20 Qualifier and won their first four matches to qualify for the main event in India. They were just defeated by Ireland in the final in an exciting last ball finish.
