‘I saw some unique qualities in Afif’

Afif Hossain has batted brilliantly in the recently concluded tour of Zimbabwe. Afif scored 10, 30, and 39 * respectively in the three-match T20 series.
Afif did not get a chance to bat in the first match of the three-match ODI series. However, in the second match, he scored 41 runs. And in the last match, he played a fighting inning of 85 runs to avoid a whitewash and won the man of the match award for contributing to the team’s victory.

National team’s team director Khaled Mahmud Sujon has highly praised Afif, who played great cricket on the field of Zimbabwe.

Sujon said, “We are thinking of Afif with a specific responsibility. He is a Dynamo. I think he’s a confident boy. He batted well in the last two series. He also played well in ODIs. We’ll give Afif that place. Because he is our future.

“Most importantly, he is aggressive,” sujon, the former captain of the national team, told the media in Mirpur on Monday. That’s what we want in the team. A very important cricketer is being produced in Bangladesh. Of course, we have to give him that opportunity. It’s our responsibility.

Sujon said, “I have seen some unique abilities in Afif, which not many cricketers have. As you see, when Afif came out to bat in the second match, we were under pressure and he took the pressure away quickly. Such a player will get out doing the same thing the other day. Then we’ll tell you what it did! But I don’t want to lose the quality that he has. Let him play this way.
