Gill’s double century in ODIs as the youngest batsman

The cricket world saw another double century in ODI. Indian opener Shubman Gill scored a double-century. Gill hit his first career double-century in the first ODI of the three-match series against visiting New Zealand in Hyderabad.

The right-handed batsman stopped playing epic innings of 208 runs off 149 balls. He had 9 sixes and 19 fours in this innings.

Based on Gill's double century, India threw a target of 350 runs in front of the Kiwis. Four other Indian batsmen have scored double centuries in ODIs before Gill. They are – Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan.Among them, Rohit has three double centuries. Rohit's innings of 264 against Sri Lanka is the highest individual innings in ODI history.

New Zealand's Martin Guptill (237*), West Indies' Chris Gayle (215), and Pakistan's Fakhar Zaman (210*) have double centuries in 50-over cricket. A few days ago, Indian batsman Ishan Kishan scored a double century in the ODI series against Bangladesh. At that time he was 24 years and 145 days old. Gill, who scored a double century today, is 23 years and 132 days old. He is now the youngest batsman to score a double century in ODIs.
