Kolkata Knight Riders finally saw the face of victory after losing four matches in a row. Nitish Rana’s side beat Royal Challengers Bangalore at home on Wednesday (April 26) night. One of the heroes of Kolkata’s victory in the match is Jason Roy.

Kolkata Knight Riders were suffering from problems with the opening batter from the beginning of the current season of IPL. In the beginning, Afghan batter Rahmanullah Gurbaz was tried without results, then Liton Das also got a chance. He also failed. Finally Jason Roy came as a savior.

Roy has played three matches in this year’s IPL so far. This star batsman has seen runs with the bat in all three matches. Finally, he played an innings of 56 runs off 29 balls in the match against Bengaluru. Kolkata returned to the winning streak.

On the day of Kolkata’s victory, however, there is bad news for Jason Roy. Despite winning the match, the English opener has to face a penalty for this match. He has been fined for violating the IPL code of conduct. The IPL authorities confirmed the information in a statement on Thursday.

In Wednesday’s (April 26) match, Roy was bowled in the last ball of the tenth over by Vijaykumar Baishak. This batter threw the bat in the sky in frustration after getting out. The matter did not escape the attention of the match referee. And he is fined. Roy was accused of breaching Section 2.2 of the IPL Code of Conduct.
After Roy pleaded guilty, no further formal hearing was required. Roy was fined 10 percent of his match fee by the match referee. Kolkata beat Virat Kohli’s Bangalore by 21 runs in the field game.
