Cricketer has been offered to fix in BPL

A director of Sylhet Strikers led by Mashrafe Bin Mortaza has been offered to fix the ongoing ninth edition of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).

On behalf of Sylhet, a representative of the BCB’s Anti-Corruption Unit (AKSU) has been told about this. An official of the BPL governing council said, “We have heard that such an offer has been made to a team. Aksu is looking into it. â€?/div>

On behalf of another BPL franchise, a national team cricketer was offered fixing. Before the BPL draft, a franchise talked with the cricketer about a direct contract.

But some ‘conditions’ were added to the contract from that franchise. The two were in touch with the cricketers as representatives of the franchise. One of them offered the cricketer to ‘favor three-four matches’ in this year’s BPL. Another said, “We have to work in two or three matches. â€?/p>

The cricketer, however, did not respond to the unethical proposal. He didn’t even go into a direct contract with the team. Later, from the draft, the cricketer was taken to another franchise team. The cricketer informed the BCB about the fixing proposal. The team he is playing, for now, is also aware of this.
