Cricketer Gustav Mckeon holds the world record as the youngest cricketer

Young French cricketer Gustav Mckeon has set a world record for being the youngest cricketer to score a century in T20 Internationals.

France and Switzerland cricket teams clash in a European sub-regional qualifying match of the ICC 2024 T20 World Cup at the Tikural Cricket Ground in Vanta, Finland on Monday.

After winning the toss and electing to bat first, France scored 157 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs due to Gustav Mckeo’s batting. Gustav Mckeo top-scored for the team with 109 off 61 balls with the help of nine sixes and five fours.

In the second match of his international cricket career, he set a world record by becoming the youngest batsman (18 years and 280 days) to score a century. Under the age of 20, no one else has scored a century in this edition.

So far, this record was held by Hazratullah Zazai of Afghanistan. The top-order batsman scored a century against Ireland in 2019 at the age of 20 years 337 days. He played an unbeaten 162-run inning.

Chasing a target of 158 runs set by France, the Swiss cricket team won the match by 1 wicket.
