BCCI also wants to earn from bilateral series like IPL

Television and digital rights have been given to different companies in the IPL. Because of this, the BCCI is earning a lot of money. Now the board can take the same decision in the bilateral series.
Star Sports has got the television rights in the IPL. Viacom 18 has acquired digital rights. BCCI to get Rs 48,390 crore as broadcast rights in five years till 2023-27; That’s three times more than before.
The BCCI wants to follow the same policy for international matches as in the IPL. Star Sports has paid a total of Rs 6,138 crore for 102 international matches till 2018-23. If television and digital rights are separated, the figure is expected to be Rs 15,000 crore.
A board official said that the BCCI wants to earn as much as possible from broadcasting.
According to BCCI sources, tenders are likely to be floated in July this year. Only then will the online broadcast rights be auctioned. A five-year deal will be signed just like the IPL.
