Bangladesh Women lost the series against WI Women

The first two ODIs of Sri Lanka’s tour were rained out. The third ODI is also of 30 overs. Only in that match did the hosts beat the Tigresses by a big margin. Chamari Atapattu’s team won the series by winning only one match. Sri Lanka defeated the Niger Sultanates by 58 runs at the Sinhalese Sports Ground in Colombo. Sri Lanka scored 186 runs in the scheduled 30 overs after batting at the start of the rain-interrupted match. In response, the Tigers were bowled out for 128 runs with 1 ball in hand.

After winning the toss and batting, Sri Lanka got off to a great start with Atapattu’s stormy innings. The Lankan captain scored 64 runs off 60 balls with 6 fours and 4 sixes. Another opener Bhishmi Gunaratne scored 17 runs. Harsitha Samarawickrama was unbeaten in the end after going down to bat. He played an innings of 45 runs off 48 balls. In the end, Kavisha Dilhari scored 25 runs off 15 balls. And the team got 186 runs after losing 5 wickets.

Bangladesh lost the wicket of opener Shamima Sultana in the second over. Sobhana Mostari returned in the sixth over with 11 runs off 7 balls. In the next over, Murshida Khatun was bowled lbw by Sugandika Kumari. Bangladesh lost 3 wickets in 7 overs and was knocked out of the match at the beginning.

Captain Nigar Sultana made a pair of 61 runs with Fergana Haque for the fourth wicket. But it narrowed the rate gap. When Niger returned with 37 runs from 51 balls, his team could not put up any resistance in the match. Lata Mondal could not bat due to injury.
