Bangladesh did well in World Cup: Shanto

Bangladesh cricket team has returned home after the T20 World Cup mission in Australia. The Tigers won for the first time in the Super Twelve.

The plane carrying them landed at Shahjalal International Airport at 10:40 PM on Monday. The cricketers have returned home from Australia via Singapore. Captain Shakib Al Hasan did not return with the team. He went to his family in the United States.

Top-order batsman Nazmul Hossain Shanto spoke to the media at the airport after landing in the country. He said that compared to the results of the previous World Cup, Bangladesh has done better this time.

Nazmul said, “Bangladesh team played good cricket. I think, if we look at the previous World Cups, we have done well according to the results. The best part was, we won two matches, we played good cricket. We played well as a team. The ones we couldn’t win, we couldn’t win as a team.â€?/p>

Bangladesh started this year’s World Cup with a win against the Netherlands. It was the Tigers’ first win in the second round of the World Cup. Later, Bangladesh also defeated Zimbabwe. But Bangladesh could not win against any big team. South Africa lost against India and Pakistan.

The opener did not think about the criticism that Shanto received before the World Cup. He has also managed to keep his focus on himself. Nazmul Hossain Shanto who is the victim of trolls and criticism the most is on top of everyone with the bat.
Shanto says, “There has been a lot of talk about me. I didn’t focus on them at all. I focused on my matches, games, and practices. Alhamdulillah, it is fine. But I think I can do better than that. That will be the effort ahead.â€?/p>

He also said, “The bowling department has done very well in every match. This thing was good. Another thing I have said before is that we played good cricket as a team. Everyone was together; everyone was by one’s bad times. So I experienced this as my first World Cup.â€?/div>
