Afif is the vice-captain in the Asia Cup

Young all-rounder Afif Hossain Dhrubo has been made the vice-captain of the Bangladesh team in the Asia Cup. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) confirmed the news in a press release on Saturday. The 22-year-old is seen as surprise to be given such a responsibility. Some of the country’s cricket lovers are surprised.

However, according to many, BCB has selected Afif in the absence of two wicketkeeper-batters Liton Das and Nurul Hasan Sohan. Many people are saying that after the Shakib-Riyad era, Afif is the ‘future captain’, BCB has explained that.

Afif Hossain is the pillar of the Bangladesh team’s middle order. He made his international debut in 2018. He has already played 47 T20 matches. Bangladesh will face Afghanistan on August 30 at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium, which has made a flying start to the tournament.
